Inspire has partnered with World Help and Hope of Life to adopt a village in Guatemala in need of transformation. The village is called Colonia Tawayni, La Union and is located about 30 minutes by 4×4 vehicle through steep, muddy coffee farming terrain. They have a total population of about 720 – comprised of 160 families with 450 children. This village is in dire need of school repairs, classrooms, playground equipment, water system improvements, and a church.
You can check out the project details below and the transformation progress we have been able make so far through our Give 50 pledge, thanks to people investing their money with Inspire!
A well is unable to be dug into the mountains at this location. Currently, there is a water source approximately 2 miles away from the village, however the current water source does not provide enough water for all of the villagers. The pipes are old and cracks bring dirt into the water system. This project would provide a holding water tank, more than 2 miles of pipeline and a distribution system.
Meet the Pastor
Pastora Betsy Caceras took over the ministry when her husband passed away from pneumonia in 2017. He started evangelizing the village in 2013 pushing past all difficulties because he saw such a great need. Since then, Betsy has picked up the torch to serve this community along with her 3 children. She travels 30 minutes from La Union to preach at weekly services held in the home of one of the 15 church members.
