Inspire has partnered with World Help and Hope of Life to adopt a village in Guatemala in need of transformation. The village is called Colonia Tawayni, La Union and is located about 30 minutes by 4×4 vehicle through steep, muddy coffee farming terrain. They have a total population of about 720 – comprised of 160 families with 450 children. This village is in dire need of school repairs, classrooms, playground equipment, water system improvements, and a church.
You can check out the project details below and the transformation progress we have been able make so far through our Give 50 pledge, thanks to people investing their money with Inspire!
Betsy Caceras took over the ministry when her husband passed away from pneumonia in 2017. He started evangelizing the village in 2013 pushing past all difficulties, including physical persecution from many locals, because he saw such a great need. Since then, Betsy has picked up the torch to serve this community along with her 3 children. She travels 30 minutes from La Union to minister at weekly services and children’s outreach that were previously held outside in the street in sweltering heat and monsoon downpours, but are now held in the recently constructed church building that was provided by Inspire, thanks to investors like you who are investing with us for God’s glory!
Land will need to be purchased to build a church building.
Build the church on the land.
Fund the clean water project.
Current services are held in the home of one of the church’s members. This project will provide a church facility for meetings and other ministry.
A well is unable to be dug into the mountains at this location. Currently, there is a water source approximately 2 miles away from the village, however the current water source does not provide enough water for all of the villagers. The pipes are old and cracks bring dirt into the water system. This project would provide a holding water tank, more than 2 miles of pipeline and a distribution system.
Currently the school is overcrowded and only has 5 classrooms to house 450 children. Repairs are needed to the existing 5 rooms.
One new classroom is needed to facilitate a computer lab. The school recently had 16 computers donated.
One new playground to provide the children in school a safe place to play.
The village health clinic building was in dire need of repairs and renovations to properly care for those needing medical attention.
Along with repairs, the medical clinic had barely any medical supplies on hand to treat patients. This project helped fully stock the clinic with the desperately needed supplies.
One way we work to make a meaningful impact in the world is through generosity. We do this by donating at least 50% of corporate profits to impactful charities with our Give50 campaign. That means that every dollar you invest with Inspire is helping to inspire transformation throughout the world.
